When starting Jiu Jitsu the hardest part is understanding what people are talking about and the positions we train in.

Jiu Jitsu is quite a complex sport with many positions and guards.

The guard is a ground grappling position in which one combatant has their back to the ground while attempting to control the other combatant using their legs, usually your opponent wil be using their hands to grip also.

In order to understand and build your knowledge there are basic fundamental positions you should be aware of when starting out.
